The European Registry for internet domains (EURid) has decided that anyone without an EU postal address will no longer be able to own a .eu domain name once the UK leaves the EU.
Therefore EURid will be terminating all .eu domain names registered to UK addresses on one of two dates:
- 30th March 2019 if the UK exits the EU with no deal
- 1st January 2021 if the UK exits the EU with a deal
How do i keep my .eu domain name?
If you have an EU postal address you can use your .eu domain name as an admin contact.
What if I don’t have a EU postal address?
Unfortunately if you do not have an EU postal address you WILL LOSE your .eu domain name.
What should I do?
We would recommend if your .eu domain name is business critical then you should look to purchase a new domain name and start the transfer of your website or web assets linked to your present .eu domain across.
